17km trial

24th of Nov 2007, 7am

reached ECP carpark B1 at 7am,

not much car park leave, while i trying to look out for familiar faces, saw kops.

parked, change my shoe and walk to him. Ronnie has already arrive and put his stuff in his car. "wei, wannna go for 84km sundown marathon or not" asked K

"wah, u sure or not, very siong leh."

not easy to run a marathon liao, now wanna go for 84 km. sure or not. "actually, it is not that difficult la, 8min/km pace." said R

hmmm.. but it will be a 12 hours run. hai~~ you guys a tempting me again.

let me think about it, anyway, it is not yet offically sign up yet, but last heard there are already more then 30+ ppl signed up for this 84km. omg.

the run started a little later, close to 7.45am. started off the run at a slower pace, i think we are going at 645m/km, while the faster pack consists of yankie, kops, ronnie and cosmic going at 6min/pace.

chatting with hoho, he ensure me the if i run this pace, i would get a sub 5 for the marathon. sound good and that my goal this year. upon reaching the bedok jetty, hoho stop and wait for his friends, where i continue to run towards the u turn pt.

reaching the u turn pt, the rest of the gang has just started to run back, i continue after i got a quick drink at the toliet, simulating race time. while running back, i felt hungry and felt that my stomach is bloated. wah liao.. not good, i decided to run really slow and this time J catches up with me and encourage me to continue, dun slack. i push on.

reaching the lagoon, i really have to stop, as the stomach bloated is really bad. i go to the toliet for another quick drinks. i continue again. while i ran to the nike uturn mark, i really have to stop, at the time, Joanna caught up again, and slap my butt. wei, dun slack.

omg, first time kenna slap on the butt by a girl, paiseh. LOL. at this time, i have already slow down quiet a bit. slowly and little step, i run back to the start line. when reaching the start line 50m away, i decide to speed up and do a tempo run, trying to catch up joanna. reached 1 hr 55min.

hmmm.. not that bad i thought, 17km for 1hr 55 min include breaks with stomach bloated

i guess, i am still within target 7min/km pace.

next tapering run will be on CBD 10km

thing to prepare and remember before the next run:

eat a little before the run
try to clear some shit
run at 6.30- 6.45min/km pace
run at my own paces
dun run so fast, with influence of others
it is a tapering run, not tempo
