Mandai Road 70km

today bike ride got a different route, mandai Road spin which i am looking forward to it for some time.

started the ride from home at 630am to meet tao and chen ping, via, upper thomson to lower pierce distance about 9km. reached 7am, chen ping is already there. she told me that tao will be late and LT might come.

waited for a while, tao come and another friend of chen ping come aslo. waited for another 15mins. we decided not to wait for LT, we started to ride off into the lower pierce. not very fast, average spd 28.

making a left turn to mandai, chen ping begin to speed off, i try to followed. going into aero position, i am able to pick up the speed to 38. passing chen ping, she draft behind me powering down the route. a bit hilly, but gentle. when reaching the end of mandai route, i turn left and proceed, riding for a while, chen ping is not around, i slowed down. while reaching 10mile junction, Tao called me. told me i got the wrong turn. i rode back, finding them at the shell station. another person had join us, riding a cervelo soloist. nice full carbon bike. meet up with another 2. we ride off, turing right to kanji industries park.

took a short kopi break at the kopi shop, I mention that i am turning off at cck via, bt batok, BT and back home. we start off the ride to LCK via the old road LCK chicken farm. leading by cervelo soloist. i try to catch up with him, but he is too fast, peddling effortless. my spd 35.

only able to catch up with him at sungei gedong camp, we regrouped and proceed on via LCK cemetry. strong head wind, we power on strongly. only cervel soloist, me and chenping. the rest lagging behind. upon reaching the junction, i signal to the gang that i am turning left via cck to bukit batok. bid our good bye, i continue on.

reaching cck, I continue to bukit batok and continue to bukit timah down farrer road. turning left i reached macritche and right turn into thomson road via home.

total distance: 70km
average 28km
max: 46km
low: 16km

today, i had seen the power of effortless riding on a full carbon bike. easy move off and pick up the speed easily. good bike, but the engine is the main part of the equation for speed. hehe :P
