20km LSD

After a week in camp, this morning, I was not really planning to meet up the team for the run, as they are peaking in the training for SCSM. 36km was in their plan, but i only wanted to get some run legs going for myself. therefore very contemplating, if i should go in the morning.

but as i woke up about 5am, i decided, heck, i should just go for the run. knowingly, someone would joined me slacking. hehe. sms joanna, I told her i am coming and if they could waited for a while. rushing out of the house, i managed to reached ECP B1 at about 6am, while Joanna, sms me that they are running off without me.

changes and top up my bottles, i manged to run about 6.10am. making an estimation, i should be about 1.5km behind them. running a little fast this morning, my leg was getting pounded. I could feel that the knee is straining and the breathing was heavy. after a while, before reaching the nike u turn pt, i saw them. good, i am catching up. after a while, i finally catches up with the last man, Terence and then the rest of the gang. Great to see them again!

running with the guys, the pace finally got comfortable and the leg finally warmed up. we took a break at 4km mark. while continue to F2 carpark for another break, before u turning at Sailing club. thru out the run, there were many chatting, making it really comfortable.

while the stronger runners pacing faster forward, i decided to take my 7mins pace with LT and Tao. relaxed and more chatting along the way back. finally reached the start pt, about 2hours , include breaks in between. while the rest went for another lap of 16km, LT and myself decided to just do another 4 km to clock 20 for the day. completing the 20km in 3 hours. include breaks.

most finished 32km, while some "siao" kia completed 36km. time probably about 4- 5hours. all of them finished strong and still look fresh. in no doubt, they are ready for the gruesome 42.195km distance in a hot Singapore weather, most pros would name this as one of the toughest marathon on earth.

good run, tomr will bike. need to burn some calories from the daily carbo loading in camp. haha
