Day 11: Home Sweet Home

flight time: 7hr 15 mins
delay: 1 hr
Singapore: 2am

8am: time to pack and stuff our luggages, head over to the counter and pass them our keys for check out.

we went over to the breakfast, had our last rice balls, miso soup and some cakes while planning to cover some part of Ueno before we set off to Narita Airport back to Singapore. After breakfast, we set off to the familiar JR line to Ueno, in mind to cover some parts of Ueno, hopping to see some sakura before going home.

reached Ueno about 930am, and we started to walk toward the shrine, while walking, I notices that most of the trees had started to have white flowers. We reached the shrine after walking for 10mins and went in. Into the entrance, I saw a hint of "Sakura" on the trees. finally, the flowers are out, but only a hint of them, while the rest is cover by bare trees. I can imagine when the whole garden is full of Sakura, won`t it be a sight?

10am, still got some time, we proceed to another garden just to for a walk, reviewing where and what we had done and if we come back again? normally, we don`t like to revisit a country until the next few years, but we might be making this an exemption :P

we went back to Ikea for a simple lunch and pick up our bags, head over to the Airport. reached and check in, we decided to spend our last thousands yen on food again.

515pm, boarding into the plane. waiting for it to take off. It said delay for 1 hour due to radar faulty. seating next to me is a singapore aunty, with a cup of ramen on her hand. said that she had never try any ramen before and wanted to eat it before leaving Japan. I wonder how they allowed her to bring this stuff up? she started off friendly and asking if we are on honeymoon. we said no. after much probing, I told her i am here for a holiday and ran the tokyo marathon on sunday. then the worst happen... she suddenly told me she had just the right thing for me! some healthy energy drinks, that help to recover body as well as a business opportunity for me. oh no... this is what i called passager from hell! she started to introduce her company business, asking if i can introduce to other runners and be a spoke person for her??? wah lao... during all these, my clever wife is already "sleeping" smart move!

well, since we are delay, I try to listen to her product and her so-called global business thingy for almost an hour... acting like i don`t need any of it. i notice that she dun get hints very well. finally, I told her to contact Safra in singapore, where they had proper group of runners with trainer that might help her on her business. while she is busy writing, I quickly put on my head phone and told her i am tired and need to sleep.

reached Singapore 2am, got home back 230am.

working in the morning. oh man!
