finally, i am out of the hell hole.
I am not saying that it was a tough in camp this time round but the thoughts of staying back in the bunks bring back bad memories. Some of my pals like it when they are back in camp, many told me that it would be weeks of non work, just get together with your buddy in camp. how come i dun have such feeling... probably the sadistic memories, the long day/night of out field training and route marching i had, still clinks to me whenever i am in green.
anyway, it was`t unfruitful there.. at the very least, the lunch and dinner was good. cannot imagine those days, where the army cooks were around. I remember those day, when we had to wake up the cooks and being scolded for waking them up too early in the morning, after that, they just throw white bread and fruit jam to settle our stomach. whether if it was a out field Lunch or a in camps Dinner, it was always late, cold and vegetable was always "sandy", all different kind of meat somehow, always taste like pork and I always wonder how come our meat always come in the shape of a cube?
These days, not many people knows about them and you would probably have to find them in one of the army museum in Changi.
oh well, Singapore Food Industries (SFI) had did a pretty good job in providing food to us in our recently years of the SAF, providing good meals with well balance diet of fried chicken wings, hot dogs and other good food that might consider unhealthy to other is important to us in camp. At least they finally know that good food and beer were the only motivation we had after those long route marches and whole day of hiding in the brushes.
The rooms had improved with King Coil Beds, well ventilated 6 man rooms and metal cupboards, what can you ask for more? I would asked for a 32 inches LCD TV, PS3, delivery services, hot water and Air con, as stated by my room mates and half a day, everyday of rest and relax. These would definitely make the in camp more interesting. don`t you think so?
nevertheless, i envy those who had MR. so when is then my turn?
