SCSM 10km

Today, i finally had the opportunity to run with the rear community of SCSM. I participated in the 10km run, which some of my team mate make fun of me as a over achiever when i trained with them. Anyhow, this also marked the first race I took part with Joanne.

Starting of the race, the atmosphere was not really exciting, comparing to the start point of the various marathon i had done, but it was actually quite relaxing. We managed to walk to the middle point of the queues and do some stretching. photo taking as well. luckily the weather was kind.

looking at the rest of the crowds who was doing their warming up, I could not help but had a thought that these people would probably stop at 2km mark and starts walking. lol.

when the horn goes, the 10,000 strong crowds move quickly towards the start line, almost everyone run past the line with hand held up, that's included us. most sprint past the Start line, looking good, with good stride. We just took our time and enjoyed the camera flashing.

running with the 10km crowds, there was not much of competitive moods, mainly fun. Most of them, could not last more then 2km of non stop running, while others start walking once they pass the camera. We took breaks at most of the water points and walked a little before we run again, hopping to prolong Joanne legs for this 10km run. not much happening during the first 5km run, many are walkers, other just take their time enjoyed the view from shear bridge. we walked up the bridge as her knee was hurt due to the lack of training.

We manage to do a short run down the slope, while reaching suntec and turning into the F1 pits. along the way, took lots of photos of her shag faces and other interesting view. Finally, reaching the last stretch of the race, i urged joanne to finish the run and i would document with my camera. reached end point: 1 hour 35mins.

It was really fun and probably she would do it again next year. hopfully a half marathon then.
